“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unsearchable his ways!” (Romans 11:33) This is a beautiful scripture verse! When we think of depth or immensity, our minds often turn to the ocean or the universe. Their immense scale has always filled humanity with wonder. Standing before something so vast and inscrutable, we feel both awestruck and humbled.

Pope Francis said that the source of the Canaanite woman’s inner strength was “her maternal love and in her faith that the Lord could grant her request.” Let us reflect briefly on this insight.

The Council of Trent stated: “Under the consecrated species of bread and wine Christ himself, living and glorious, is present in a true, real, and substantial manner: his Body and his Blood, with his soul and his divinity.” In this holy sacrament that the Lord left to the Church, we find His precious Body, His precious Blood, His human Soul as the true man He is, and His Divine Nature as the true God He is.
